Designed through collaboration between world renowned clarinetist Julian Bliss and innovator Morrie Backun, the Leblanc L320B Bliss Clarinet is a great instrument for the intermediate and casual player. It is made of a proprietary composite material selected for its sound and is not ABS plastic like many other clarinets. In fact, many professional clarinetists use Bliss Series composite clarinets for outdoor and pit orchestra jobs because of its warm sound. Both the Bliss barrel and bell were designed by Backun. the barrel is free blowing, responsive, and helps improve articulation and tone. A few advantages of the Backun designed bell are fluidity between registers and a focused tone. For comfort a fully adjustable thumb rest with a locking mechanism is used. Instead of corks pre-compressed felt bumpers are used which are longer lasting. The clarinet was also designed to look unique. It features a sleek ringless design and black nickel keys. Overall, the L320B Bliss Clarinet is affordable, responsive, and durable with a warm sound.
